Biography

Alix Roy is a Haitian artist famous for his paintings on children. He was born on April 8, 1930 in Port au Prince, Haiti.

He studied at Saint Louis de Gonzague and the Louis Hall Institute. He became acquainted with art with well-known painters such as Luce Turnier, Maurice Borno and Lucien Price, and then worked at Unicef ​​in Haiti as a draftsman. He went to New York to study painting. He lived in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, returned to Haiti in 1979 and moved to Petit Goave.

The works of Alix Roy are famous and have been in European, American as well as Latin American museums. He died in the January 12, 2010 earthquake.
