Biography
Bernard Séjourné is a world famous painter and leader of the School of Beauty. His peak came at the highest level when he was chosen by Baron Philippe de Rothschild to design the label for Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac 1986. He was born in Port au Prince on August 8, 1939 and died in 1994.
He began to draw at the age of ten and studied ceramics and sculpture. In 1961, he created the Calfou art center which brought together poets, musicians, painters and playwrights. In 1963, when he was already a very popular painter, he was commissioned by the government to restore works of art adorning public gardens and cultural centres.
He is involved in the frescoes at the capital’s airport. He founded the school of the French Institute and left for France where he exhibited several times and became very well known. He then settled in New York in 1967 to pursue his studies. From 1967 to 1978, he exhibited in the United States and Canada.
His peak comes at the highest level when he designed the label of their wine for the Rothschilds.
