Scullery maids in Beaune and a swimming pool in Sydney, shuttered windows in Verona, a quiet Sussex pond and a weathered groyne in East Anglia. Directions to a motel in Los Angeles and autumn trees in Montpellier. An ivy covered headstone in West Norwood cemetery, my homage to ‘Last Year at Marienbad’ and spent matchsticks from bars and restaurants long forgotten …I just can’t wait to be with my baby tonight.
