Henry Miller Fine Art / Focusing on the Male Form
–
Henry Miller is back at the Coningsby Gallery from 5 to 17 March with an exhibition featuring selected works from his unique collection celebrating male beauty through the ages.
Spanning several centuries and styles, and including paintings, drawings, prints and photographs from the 17thCentury to the present day, the collection focuses exclusively on the male form and features works by established names alongside lesser known artists. Unbound by any particular time period or style, the collection is curated thematically around representations of male beauty, enabling it to display older pieces alongside more contemporary works.
On display this spring will be a selection of academic drawings and paintings from the 18th and 19th Century alongside 20th Century works, including nudes and portraits, by the likes of Duncan Grant, John Craxton and Keith Vaughan as well as photography by Arthur Tress.
Also, for the first time, Henry Miller has invited Guest Artist Ronald Bowen (b.1944), an acclaimed American painter based in Paris, whose exquisite large scale pencil drawings are a sight to behold.
The private view will be on Wednesday 7 March 2018 from 6pm to 8.30pm. Please RSVP to henry@henrymillerfineart.co.uk to be added to the guest list.
