James and Alice’s Brilliant & Amazing Exhibition
–
Jim Smith is an illustrator, designer and copywriter specialising in humorous, comic approaches. You might have seen his work for Puccino’s coffee shops - he designs everything from their sugar sachets through to their wall murals. Jim also recently illustrated a whole range of M&S kids food packaging and has a new range of greeting cards which he scours all good stationary shops looking for. Jim booked the Coningsby Gallery hoping it’d make him do some new work. He’s still not sure exactly what’s going to be in the show, but it will probably include his paintings, fake receipts, wooden cutouts (sound tacky but are actually OK) and maybe a few of his Puccino’s cups. Jim’s work will be in the front room. www.waldopancake.com
Alice Daisy Smith is also an illustrator. She has had success with her children’s book ‘I’m SO over fairies’, published by Orion - ‘combines sarcasm with exquisite illustrations’ Toby Clements, Telegraph - and also has her own range of greeting cards with The Artgroup. She has always loved drawing buildings and has a big thing for fairy cakes (there’ll be some at the exhibition). Recently Alice has incorporated her interest in fashion into her drawings, some of which will be on show in the back room. www.alicepictures.co.uk
