For one week only, 16th to the 20th of June, Coningsby Gallery is hosting the University of Gloucestershire’s Photography: Editorial and Advertising class of 2025s exhibition. A showcase of incredible images that are taken by students will decorate the space, work that we are all proud of and can say that we love. The exhibition will be a cumulation of three years of hard work and passion and will showcase our creativity and skills which we have learnt during our time on the course. The images that will be on display will span from portraiture, still life, automotive and fashion photography- so we do in fact have it all!
Our course is all about business and photography- we love photography so much we want to do it for our entire lives (who would’ve thought!). We focus on learning about the ins and outs of the industry in the hopes of being able to make it in and make an impact, like many award winning photographers from previous years on our course. The images you will be seeing are a testament to the three years we have spent working on our skills and fine tuning our talents so that we can produce images that not only mean a lot to us but we are incredibly proud of. Not only have we learnt more about cameras, we have learnt what it takes to be successful photographers- including how to navigate social media platforms, liase with potential clients and how to understand and complete a brief that is given to us so that we can use our talents in any situation. During our time on the course, we have all been able to complete some things we have always wanted to, such as working on real commissions and collaborating with professionals in the industry.
Our exhibition will be open every day of the week for anyone that is interested in us and the work we have produced, but for one night only (Thursday the 19th), we will be hosting an Industry Night! This evening will be an amazing networking event with many people within the photography and related industries coming together to celebrate our final projects. This will be an amazing chance to meet like-minded people and spend an evening surrounded by industry professionals which will be beneficial to everyone. The images will speak for themselves, but if you have any questions, please don’t be afraid to ask the photographers about our work- we don’t bite! Friday the 20th is for friends and family, so expect us to be emotional- we invite those who we hold nearest and dearest to us to Coningsby Gallery to check out what we have been getting up to for the past three years. Expect familiarities and a lot of ‘oh! That’s where they get their eyes from!’ and ‘You can tell he’s her dad’ on the 20th. There are no rules or regulations, all we want to do is celebrate our work and put on an exhibition that everyone (whether creative or academic) can enjoy. The aim is to connect with those who see our potential and maybe want to employ us, but also to invite anyone who would be interested to have a nosy at what Gloucestershire photography students are capable of.
